"One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them." Long ago the Rings of Power were created by the Elves and Sauron, the Dark Lord, secretly forged the One Ring and filled it with his power, so that he could rule over all others. But the One Ring was taken from him and as much as he searched for it throughout Middle-earth, it remained lost to him. Many ages later, the Ring falls into the hands of the hobbit Bilbo Baggins ... and so begins the greatest and most dangerous adventure in fantasy literature.

Our feedback: Hey Sally, laut einem Forum: 1. :)

Super Buch, schnelle Lieferung

Empfehlenswert

Beren and Lúthien - Hardcover Edition
A dramatic fate overshadows the love of Beren and Lúthien. She belongs to the immortal elves, while he is a mortal. In his deep dislike for all humans, her father, a great elven lord, imposes an impossible task on Beren: before he may marry Lúthien, he must steal a Silmaril from Melkor's crown. The reader can expect Tolkien's most beautiful story. Especially for this edition, the well-known Tolkien artist Alan Lee has created numerous color paintings and drawings. Undaunted, Beren sets off to win the Silmaril for his love. Then Melkor, also called Morgoth the Black Enemy, sends the most terrible creatures – ruthless orcs and cunning wolves – against Beren. But the love between Lúthien and Beren literally reaches beyond death. This story, without exaggeration the most beautiful of Tolkien's, is part of the 'Silmarillion', the 'Book of Lost Tales' and the 'Lay of Leithian' in an unfinished form. Christopher Tolkien has tried to extract the story of Beren and Lúthien from the extensive work in which it is embedded. He tells it in his father's words: first in its original form, then according to later texts. Thus it is presented in its change. The texts presented here for the first time reveal aspects that have been lost both in terms of plot and narrative immediacy.
